Can you celebrate a wedding anniversary for us?
We want to renew our wedding vows - can you help?
We have new wedding rings - can you bless them?
I am/was a member of another denomination but feel that the Church of England is the right church for me. Is there any means by which I can become an Anglican?
I have just moved to a new house - can you come and bless it?
I feel detached from God and want to ask for his renewing Spirit.
How can I do this?
I used to be a regular communicant but now I'm housebound: can I receive holy communion at home?
I haven't been to church for years and feel I ought to mark my return in a special way; I feel that I ought to be re-baptized. Is there someway that I can do this?
An occasion such as a significant wedding anniversary can be celebrated either as a public or as a private family occasion in one of our churches or chapels. Email the Parish Office with details of what you would like.
When a period of estrangement has been followed by a reconciliation, it may be appropriate to renew the marriage vows, particularly with just close family and friends. Email the Parish Office and ask for details.
If new wedding rings have been purchased and you wish them to be blessed, this can be arranged. Email the Parish Office with your details.
If you really feel you want to move from your present denomination we would gladly have a conversation with you about it. A period of enquiry and instruction will be necessary, which will then be followed by an official service usually within the main Sunday Eucharist called, 'Reception into the Communion of the Church of England.' Email the Parish Office with your details.
It is said that moving house is one of the most stressful events in life: certainly any priest will confirm this as they have to move a good many times during their ministry! Either just after moving in, or once the family have settled and any major re-decorations have been completed, many use the opportunity for a house-warming party. Why not have the party, but begin with a short service when a priest will come and bless the home and the family? If you would like to pursue this further please email the Parish Office with your details.
Time and again the bible tells us, and Jesus shows us, that God really loves us. Even when we turn away from him and think, say or do things which make us deeply ashamed, God still loves us and longs to give us the healing and peace which only he can give. This gift is offered to us in the Sacrament of Reconciliation or Confession. more....
Yes, of course. Please email the Parish Office with your details or contact the parish secretary so that arrangements can be made.
Many have been baptised as children, or even confirmed, but then drifted away from the Church feeling that real faith somehow did not flower in them. Some describe this as "never feeling the faith on the inside", but then slowly come to an awareness that they want to pick up their faith journey again.
Baptism and Confirmation are 'once-and-for-all' sacraments; they cannot be re-done or un-done. However, the Church provides for a way of returning to active faith if you have not been baptised or confirmed in the form of a short service called 'The Renewal of Baptismal Vows'. We would invite you to email the Parish Office with your details or contact the parish secretary. Your details will be passed to a priest who will then make initial contact with you to discuss the issue fully.
