The Cook Book will be launched at coffee squash and be on sale on Advent Sunday 27th November, then every week afterwards, in the Oliver Bird Hall.

The cost of the book will be £6.50.

It is a very fine publication. There are 167 recipes, ranging from soups, to salads, main courses (meat and vegetarian), puddings, cakes, jam and preserves. There is a wine section recommending which wines to serve with various dishes, and even an intriguing section entitled Not for Human Consumption.

Each section is headed with a full colour picture of one of the dishes which makes the book a delight to use.

It will make a terrific Christmas gift as well as being a lasting memory of the Millennium of Alphege’s martyrdom in 1012.

We commend this book to you. Profits will go towards the costs of the Millennium celebrations and to charities chosen by the Rector and Alys. Proceeds of copies sold to school parents will go to The Friends of St Alphege Schools. If you pre-order your books we can have them put aside for you at the launch.
