St Alphege Church worship is based on the daily Eucharist. Through this daily offering, we give an opportunity for worship, and we undertake the task of bringing the needs of the community and the wider world – and our own needs – to God.
Sunday is the focal point for this worship, and our aim is excellence – in liturgy, music, ceremonial – and fellowship. We hope that those attending St Alphege will find the services uplifting, and afterwards will enjoy meeting with members of the substantial congregation.
The tradition at St Helen's Church is 'Broad Anglican'. The principal act of Sunday worship is the Eucharist at 10.00am in the main church building. People of all ages join together in the worship of God and in prayer for the world and the local community. This is a service of Word & Sacrament during which a wide variety of hymns and songs are sung. A crèche is available, and a Sunday Club for children runs alongside during term time.
The St Michael's Church tradition is 'Broad Anglican'. Our main service takes place at Sharmans Cross School at 10.30am on Sunday mornings. We have a Eucharistic Service in modern language (except 2nd Sunday) with a Sunday Club for children. Worshipping in a school hall reminds us that Church is essentially the People. Each Sunday we gather, we set up the church, we worship God, and we meet each other. We then they go out again to live out our faith in our daily lives.
