EVENTS

Welcome to St Catherine's

St Catherine’s church is situated in the heart of the village of Catherine-de-Barnes on Hampton Lane, a mile or two from Solihull.

The church building is an historic structure originally intended to serve as both village school and church. Although the school was closed a number of years ago the building continues to serve the community as the village hall.

The Sanctuary at the east end of the building is furnished for worship but this is curtained off when the building is used for community events.

The church meets for worship on the third Sunday of each month at 11.00am. This is always a eucharist. Our worship is relaxed in its style and all who visit are assured of a warm welcome.

St Catherine's is a sister church of St Alphege, Solihull where services are held every Sunday and on every weekday except Friday. You will be very welcome at St Alphege if there is not a suitable service at St Catherine's.

The monthly service, which is always a celebration of the Eucharist,  begins at 11 o’clock.  Occasionally other Eucharists are held in the church, notably on Palm Sunday and Easter Day.  A Crib Service is held on Christmas Eve although this is not a Eucharist.  Baptisms can be arranged, but these would normally be held as part of the regular Sunday worship.

There is no permanent priest at St. Catherine.  Services are conducted by members of the clergy team within the Solihull Parish.  All enquiries should be made through the Parish Office.
