St Michael’s is a very welcoming and friendly church. The church has a marvellous congregation spread across the complete age span, with all ages equally welcomed with open arms. Music is provided by either a piano or guitar and a small choir regularly leads the singing.
Children are an important part of the life of St Michael’s. Children, including babies stay with the adults throughout the service or only for the first part of the service and then attend a crèche for the young children or a Sunday Club for the older children (6 and above).
In both the crèche and Sunday Club, children take part in structured activities and learning based on the readings/gospel being read in church. Both groups are run by approved volunteers from the congregation, allowing parents to remain in church for the majority of services, while the children are supervised and cared for.
When the children return to the service there is always time to ask them to go to the front and show the congregation what they have been doing in their groups, allowing the children to really feel part of the church family.
Regular social activities are arranged ranging from a walking group to evening entertainment, with highlights being the summer fete and warden’s picnic. Also events to help us on our journey of faith.
St Michael’s church provides a wonderful environment for all to demonstrate and grow in their faith and be part of a warm and welcoming family.
