Beryl Moppett

I was admitted as a Reader in the Birmingham diocese in January 1995 and have for the most part exercised this ministry at St Helen’s apart for three years I when I helped at St Peter and St Paul Kingsbury.

I have a Mathematics degree and began my working life by carrying out industrial research for British Gas in the course of which I re- located from London to Solihull. In the mid 80’s I changed career and taught mathematics at Handsworth Wood Girl’s School for eighteen years.

For many years I have lead the Town Centre Chaplaincy team which now visits the majority of the shops in the town centre on a regular basis.

I have great concern over the future of our planet and coordinate the Birmingham Anglican Climate Action group.  I have also taken on the responsibility for helping Birmingham diocese progress to becoming an Eco diocese.  I am a member of Birmingham diocesan Synod.

I have two sons and three granddaughters.
