x Civic Service

It is our great honour to host a Civic Service at St Alphege Church on Friday 16 April at 7.30pm. This will be in celebration of the life of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth and Baron Greenwich.

Conducted within strict Covid-19 guidelines and with reduced numbers, attendees will include The Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Stuart Davis, accompanied by the Deputy Lieutenant, and the Chief Executive of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council. No additional congregation places are available.

The Revd Simon Marshall will Preside, music has been thoughtfully and expertly chosen by our Director of Music Joe Cooper and a section will be included where young people who have achieved their Duke of Edinburgh Awards talk about their experiences.

The Service will be livestreamed on our Parish YouTube channel for you to watch in real time or later if that is more convenient. Here is the link to join the service: https://youtu.be/RgBJSl3pvi8

A huge debt of gratitude goes to all who are working incredibly hard behind the scenes, both within the Parish and at Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, to create what will be a truly wonderful and fitting Service.
