St Alphege Church hosts many events throughout the year.
Updates are posted on our Parish Facebook and Instagram, and Music Facebook and Instagram pages.
The Big Sing and International Supper
Saturday 20th September 6pm to 9pm in the Oliver Bird Hall.
Sing for health, sing for pleasure, sing for fun – and sing for God!
Everyone is warmly invited to this event, for which no musical expertise will be expected – just the wish to enjoy an evening singing together: international songs, hymns old and new, choruses from musicals, popular operas and oratorios. Whole families will be welcome – so come and join in an evening’s fun with singing and eating together.
Singing is a sure way to good health, good emotions and good relationships, as we harmonise with each other and enjoy good food – and drinks will be on sale at the bar.
It will be led by Chris Thomas, supported by The St. Alphege Choirs, with accompanist Kevin Gill.
Tickets priced £10 for adults can be purchased via this link – children under 18 free of charge.

Chorister Experience Morning
On Saturday 11th October we are holding a free half-day singing event for pupils from Year 3 and above from all over Solihull, where they can have the opportunity to experience being a chorister at St Alphege Church.
The event will include singing and music theory games, plus fun activities, as well as a chance to explore the church and learn more about the lives of our current choristers at St Alphege, who are privileged to experience a musical education similar to that of places like King’s College, Cambridge. Adult supervision will be in place throughout the event. The event will run from 9.30am to 12.30pm, with parents invited to return in time to listen to a short performance at 12 noon. Refreshments will be provided.
These events are very popular so please register directly at this link. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Director of Music c.thomas@solihullparish.org.uk.
In recent years, the choirs have featured on BBC Breakfast and the BBC News as part of the coverage of the Queen’s 90th birthday, toured to famous cathedrals in the UK and France, won competitions and shared a stage with Aled Jones. We have lots of exciting plans for the year ahead, including concerts, cathedral visits and trips away.
We look forward to welcoming you to our Chorister Experience Morning.
